If everyone were mentally incapable of lying, how would that change the world?

In modern times, this thought of living in Utopia has occurred to every other mind. To all those, what Utopia is? In simple words, it is an imaginative place where everything is just perfect. I would like to highlight the word ‘imaginative’. Because there really does not exist such a place. Let’s try to visualise this Utopia.

When we speak of this imaginative world, we come across kindness and peace showered everywhere. And the most important quality of living in peace is honesty. Honesty that could become the stalwart of mankind. A world where there is no hatred, no jealousy, no infidelity, no crime and no killings. In the words of Mark Twain, “If you tell the truth, you don’t have to remember anything.” Life could be simpler and happier. And one could easily trust anyone. At the same time, there is no fear of any lie being exposed. This thus could save humanity from the catastrophe.

However, as there can’t really exist utopia, one can not completely favour honesty. Because sometimes truths become so hard to accept that one has to take help of lies, lies which save relationships, protect from harsh repercussions and ease life.

Every thing in which life prospers has emotions. Even a goat that is well-fed before being butchered carries the feeling of betrayal with its soul. Nothing in this world can escape from meeting its fate nor does a lie. Everything good or bad will reach its end sooner or later. Utopia is indeed rare in today’s world. However, small changes in one’s life can surely contribute to making the world a better place to live in.
